Mister Flint can overcome an absence to get the better of Winsley, Eva So Charming and Analogy in the opening race on the card. Philip Hobbs has been a bit unlucky over the past few days with quite a few animals being placed, but the stable remains in good form and Mister Flint should be involved in the finish if fit enough after a three-month break. A bumper winner at Worcester last May, he looked set to make a successful start over hurdles at Haydock next time but fell two out. Tailed off behind Inglis Drever at Sandown subsequently and then fourth at Ascot in December, he has been given time to get over those exertions and will line up fresher than most. Winsley opened his account on this course in January and has been a bit unlucky since. He should appreciate the step up in trip and is another to consider. Analogy finished down the field in the Triumph Hurdle but has a chance on his overall form, and will pay to follow when sent over fences next year. Eva So Charming was pulled up after a blunder at Newbury but apart from that has been consistent and so cannot be ruled out either. In a fairly open affair, Mister Flint is the pick.
