Miss Mobot has failed to complete in two previous starts on fast going but has won a couple of moderate contests recently with the minimum of fuss. This is a better race and she has a penalty to carry so may be worth opposing. Richard Johnson won't have been able to do the weight on Lilywhite Gesture, who is 3lb out of the handicap, so instead rides the returning Nordic Nymph for Henry Daly. She's not out of this if she retains all of her ability but MORNING HERALD (NAP) was progressing nicely when encountering quick going in the spring and can record a second course victory.
Morning Herald 11-10fav (11-5) Held up towards rear, headway after 4th, not fluent 4 out, challenged 3 out, narrow lead after next, strongly pressed, driven out, won at Exeter 2m 3f (4) gf in May beating Avispa (10-12) by 1 1/4l, 8 ran.
Miss Mobot 8-15fav (11-3) Chased leader, led going well after 3 out, clear before next, easily, won at Southwell 3m (4) gd in Sep beating Lady Robyn (10-11) by 35l, 4 ran.
Nordic Nymph 4-6fav (11-12) Jumped slickly, chased leader until after 5th, chased leading pair, 2nd again 6th, led travelling well 3 out, clear before next, virtually pulled up run-in, very easily, won at Chepstow 3m hcp (5) gs in Feb beating Broome Lane (10-11) by 8l, 8 ran.
Lilywhite Gesture (IRE) 10-1 (10-11) Held up in rear, headway on outside 4 out, outpaced after next, stayed on flat, no impression on leaders, 4th of 6, 5 3/4l behind Ballymalin (10-12) at Perth 3m (4) sft in Sep.
