Verdict

A very competitive field for this big prize with Gordon Elliott and Willie Mullins both saddling four. The former's Fils D'oudairies heads the weights after completing a double in a Tipperary Grade 3 under Jack Kennedy. Danny Gilligan has been booked with his 5lb claim and Kennedy is on board Shecouldbeanything, whom he rode to an easy victory in a similar race to this at Killarney. However, he is 10lb higher here. The latter made mistakes at a crucial stage in the valuable Galway Tribes won narrowly by Ifiwerearichman from VOLANTIS but the runner-up is taken to reverse the form on slightly better terms and take this. Aime Desjy makes his handicap debut for the champion trainer after a facile maiden success at Kilbeggan while Icare Allen found 2m7f taxing his stamina in a Listed handicap at Galway, just two days after a close fourth in the Galway Hurdle when Filey Bay was close behind.
