In depth

Verdict

Merricourt has had plenty of chances and may do better in a handicap but Tham Luang has shown enough ability to suggest he'll be getting off the mark soon. Royal Canford sets the standard with a close fifth behind Winiata at Leopardstown but then ran poorly at Cork so a chance is taken with Dermot Weld's newcomer INSAAN, a close relative of five winners. Pocotaligo and Self Rule have both had enough chances while Golden Valour hasn't run since placed at Kempton in October for Godolphin.
