Even though a wide draw is not ideal, Affiliation is a sporting choice to get the better of Time For Change and Blue Mistral in a very modest race. Blue Mistral may have been in need of the run on his latest start and, as he faced a stiff test under top weight, he ran respectably enough. Admittedly, his form is nothing out of the ordinary but he shapes as if he can be a force at this level. Time For Change is 6lb higher than for his Southwell win in April but still looks to be on a fair mark in the context of this race. Like the selection, he has a wide draw to contend with but there is a distinct lack of strength in depth here, so it may not be such an inconvenience. In which case Affiliation, who ran a blinder in a much stronger contest at Windsor last time, is fancied to give us a solid run for the money today. Richard Hughes got on well with the Danehill Dancer filly on her latest start and the partnership can be seen to good effect here.
