This is so poor its virtually a banded race and at the weights Captain Darling may provide the answer, with Doctor Dennis, Pearl Farm, Beneking and Global Achiever others to consider. The selection was a course and distance winner in January off a 7lb higher mark than today's and comes into the race in decent form, having won at Southwell earlier in the month before failing over a mile last time. Back over seven furlongs he is worth a small wager if you must play here. Doctor Dennis handles this surface well and was not far away on the fibresand last time. However, he looks best at 6f, while Pearl Farm gets the trip on fast ground but has her fitness to prove after a break. Beneking is 5lb higher than when winning in banded company here a fortnight or so ago and is not fancied off this mark, while Global Achiever has yet to win beyond 6f and even the presence of Eddie Ahern may not be enough to achieve that target here with topweight. An awful contest then, where Captain Darling is the suggestion.
