Verdict

WHISKEY CREEK is the pick in this finale and Scruffy Skip and Royal Sovereign the most obvious dangers on the formbook. Whiskey Creek went into many notebooks following a recent second at the track to The Hoofer. True, that was a bad race but this is not any better than that on paper. Scruffy Skip won at Great Leighs over six furlongs. He needs everything to go his way but the step up in trip will not be a problem. Palais Polaire should have won far more than she has. That said, the mare arrives here at the top of her game. Royal Sovereign had a nightmare last time out though had ran a solid enough race when fifth in a decent seller at the track at the top of the month. Bronte's Hope has evidently had training troubles and is one to note in the market. Shaded Edge didn't take to the visor last time out and makes a degree of appeal with William Carson in the saddle. Greek Secret never threatened in a ladies handicap but this step up to seven has been long overdue. A damp squib to end proceedings and Whiskey Creek is our idea of the winner.
