    Verdict

December Draw looked improved when finding just the one too good last time and although he is considered one of the more likely we prefer NOBLE JACK following his winning reappearance after over a year out with Thunderball also making the list now looking better weighted. The pick got up late but looked comfortable in landing a maiden on his return to racing after 456 days out. He should be fitter for that and based on the pick of his handicap runs in 2008 he looks nicely treated. December Draw kept on well over a longer trip last time to finish second best at odds of 16/1. If building on that he should go close and his only win has been over this mile trip. Thunderball has been solid at best in his last two runs but having fished a neck second when a pound worse off at Kempton in October he should be in the mix. Ilie Nastase and Red Somerset save their best for claimers and have a bit to prove in this company so Noble Jack gets the pick as he is possibly well-in.
