Dormouse is on a hat-trick after back-to-back wins at Warwick and Taunton. He gets on well with the champ and, though now on a career-high mark, shouldn't be far away again as he handles heavy ground. Volcan Surprise didn't really deliver last season and must be worth opposing under top weight on his reappearance but the mare Synthe Davis was only beaten a head at Huntingdon last month and should strip fitter here. Manshoor is a previous C&D winner while Seedsman is unexposed and looks a better bet at the weights than Lindsay's Dream but it's YA HAFED that gets the nod. Sheena West's gelding is still a maiden over timber but has been second twice on soft going and could take advantage of his low weight.
