Verdict
Grendisar is looking to go one better than last year's renewal when well ahead of both Complicit and Battalion. Marco Botti's charge also had the beating of Energia Davos here in December and edged out Festive Fare in the Listed Quebec Stakes last time. The latter represents Godolphin who won this last year with Tryster and also run Maverick Wave. John Gosden's charge won the Huxley at Chester back in May and could go well but it's harder to assess the value of new stablemate Furia Cruzada's Group 1 winning form in Italy. TULLIUS handled the step up to 1m2f well in the latter half of 2015 winning the Group 2 Sky Bet York Stakes in July. He's penalised for that success but made a winning return last season and Andrew Balding's charge can make a bold bid in this with the tough Fire Fighting also capable of getting involved.
