Verdict

The Gosdens’ yard has won the last three renewals with Forest Of Dean successful last year but he didn’t have to face stablemate LORD NORTH on that occasion. The dual Group 1 winner is clear at the weights and may well head to Meydan after this having won the Dubai Turf at the latter track on his only start in 2021. Alenquer debuts on the all-weather but will likely show further progress this season having won the Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes at Ascot last summer, though he’s been beaten by Fancy Man in the past. The latter also had the measure of King Of The South and the disappointing Al Zaraqaan when landing a Listed race here earlier in the month and can figure again but Pistoletto and Barn Owl have little chance on these terms.
