In depth

Verdict

My Target has done all his winning over shorter trips so far while though Noble Peace landed a double over course and distance last month he is now 7lb higher and wasn’t at his best drawn wide here on Saturday. The latter excuse also applied to Maximum Effect at Chelmsford back in November and much better is expected from the Gosden filly on her reappearance but the vote goes to PALAVECINO (NAP). The latter was having his first outing since September when finding only Lucky’s Dream, who has won again since, too good and Brian Meehan’s charge has lots of scope for further progress. The Jean Genie is not the most reliable but is capable at this level on her day.
