Bob Hopeful comes out best at the weights but drops back in distance after a modest effort in a handicap over 7f at Kempton. Frank Cool and Arcanista have also been handicapping over longer trips though the former was placed over today’s distance at Kempton earlier. NAPPING will need to improve but should be sharper for last month’s racecourse debut at Kempton and it’s Anabel Murphy’s filly that gets a speculative vote with Kristoff and Bella's Boy having plenty to find on these terms.
Bella's Boy (IRE) 100-1 (8-12) Very slowly away and lost many lengths, pulled up after 1f, at Wolverhampton 1m 1f hcp (6) pol in Mar.
Bob Hopeful 25-1 (9-2) Hampered start, in touch, headway entering final 2f, ridden and every chance inside final furlong, kept on, 4th of 9, 3 1/2l behind Papou Tony (9-5) at Kempton 7f hcp (5) pol in Apr.
Frank Cool 4-1 (9-6) Raced wide prominent, tracked winner after 2f, ridden 2f out, kept on one pace, 3rd of 11, 1 1/2l behind Tavener (9-9) at Wolverhampton 7f hcp (6) pol in Mar.
Kristoff (IRE) 8-1 (8-12) Led over 3f, pressed leader, led again 3f out, ridden over 1f out, headed inside final furlong, weakened towards finish, 5th of 12, 2 1/4l behind Living Leader (9-3) at Lingfield 1m hcp (6) pol in Mar.
Arcanista (IRE) 16-1 (9-0) Towards rear, headway over 1f out, soon ridden, no impression, 10th of 14, 9 1/4l behind Olympic Duel (8-11) at Kempton 7f hcp (6) pol in Apr.
Napping 50-1 (9-7) Close up, ridden 2f out, faded inside final furlong, 5th of 12, 3 1/2l behind Ashwaq (8-10) at Kempton 6f mdn stks (5) pol in Mar.
