In depth

Verdict

Hawthorn Cottage ended last season with a double over hurdles but is another 6lb higher on her return. Robin Gold landed a lower grade handicap at Perth last month but should go well again while OUTONPATROL (NAP) was successful at Warwick on her reappearance. That was her first outing after a wind operation and, with further progress expected from Alan King’s mare today, she can go in again. Methag was narrowly beaten at Hexham recently and is preferred to Lily The Pink, a runner-up at Wincanton back in February.
