OFFICER MOR heads our shortlist for this moderate opener, being preferred to Elusive Ronnie and Come On Buckers . The selection's only career win came over the minimum trip on turf, but they're persisting with him on the all-weather, and he should be better than many if not all of these. He's the top weight and has to overcome a high draw, but that's not necessarily a disadvantage. First time blinkers may bring about improvement. Come On Buckers keeps finding one too good, and this is a step back up in trip. He's reasonably drawn too. Elusive Ronnie is the only course and distance winner in the field, and that was last time out, a week last Monday, and from a high draw too. He's not always been the most straightforward, but the cheekpieces may have helped bring about the improvement and they remain in place today. Tom Dascombe does well here, but the fact that Flying River is making her racecourse debut in a seller doesn't inspire much confidence. Several seem to have chances, but we'll side with Officer Mor.
