In depth

Verdict

A small field for this claimer with just a quartet turning up and at the weights it looks to be a match between Night Prospector and Dress To Impress, with the latter getting the vote. There is little to choose between the pair as far as official ratings and these weights are concerned. However, Dress To Impress is taken because he is generally in better form at present. Gerard Butler's colt has had a couple of recents runs over this trip at Kempton and although he has not won for well over a year, he has not had much racing in that time and is coming back into form now. Provided he handles this track on his first try then he is taken to score. Night Prospector is a c&d scorer so there is no problem on that score, but he has been on the slide for some time. If he could be trusted to reproduce some of his old form he'd be favourite here, but apart from a decent effort two starts back he has a bit to prove. The other pair look like having their own battle for third, but in a race where this judge won't be having a wager, Dress To Impress is the token selection.
