Division two of the sprint handicap and it's worth sticking with the younger brigade once more so EDITH'S BOY is selected to get the better of Buy On The Red and Thoughtsofstardom. Our selection has been placed or better in over half of his all weather starts, the most recent of which resulted in a comfortable success over course and distance back in November. That effort under today's jockey prompted a 5lb rise from the assessor but as an improving three-year-old we fancy this horse to defy the handicapper's actions and win again. Buy On The Red also won last time out and whilst that was in selling company it wasn't a bad race and off a fair mark this eight-year-old should go well once more under conditions that suit as should Thoughtsofstardom. The last named won this race last year off a much higher mark and had been in good form prior to disappointing last time out, but as that was over six furlongs and the gelding has done all of his winning at today's trip of five we expect a much better showing here. Littlemisssunshine has a 5lb pull in the weights with our pick for a two length defeat last time and is therefore weighted to have a chance although this filly lacks the scope for progression of the likely favourite and we fancy the form to be confirmed here despite that turnaround. Silver Prelude can be a tough front runner on his day and ran better last time but he was beaten out of sight by Edith's Boy before that and will struggle to dominate this field, whilst Peopleton Brook is interesting at a potentially nice price having shaped better last time; the horse should be suited by dropping back to the minimum trip too. Possibly the weaker of the two divisions and a fine chance for Edith's Boy to continue in his rich vein of form.
