Verdict

COLOUR CATCHER has had the misfortune of running into two smart sorts in as many races but there is nothing ungenuine about Charlie Appleby's colt and if he can handle a switch to racing left-handed, his form looks to be just about the strongest on offer. Power Play was sent off as an odds-on favourite at Windsor having caught the eye on debut at Doncaster. You couldn't rule out any Richard Hannon runner at present but that flop somewhat tempers enthusiasm. Midlander is a half-brother to a previous winner on the all-weather and the market should give us a fair idea as to what to anticipate on his first racecourse start. Drumkilbo realised 60,000 guineas as a yearling and it would be no surprise to see Lady Cecil's inmate come into his own once stepped up to longer distances.
