An interesting handicap and one in which Doris Souter gets the call over Dance In The Sun and Miss Keon. Running through the field. Topweight A Dance In The Sun is a course and distance winner from a mark of 78 and has remained competitive from her current rating of 85. Maystock is a course winner over a longer trip from a mark of 62 but is now rated 77. The drop in trip isn't guaranteed to suit and something might do her for a bit of toe. Given that Cuddles is a course and distance winner from a mark of 82, her chance from a rating of 77 is there for all to see. It might be that it is best to catch her fresh, but it would need to be as she has not matched that form since. However, it would be folly to dismiss her chance. Doris Souter remains consistent from her current mark and will come here fully sharp following a good second over course and distance 22 days ago. Raised five pounds for her course win over 12 furlongs 15 days ago, Anyhow has to improve again to win this race, although she is effective at this distance. Lara Falana is well weighted on the best of her Turf form but would need to achieve that to score here. In her defence, though, she has run well over this course and distance without yet winning. Miss Koen caused a surprise when winning here over 12 furlongs last time and turns out again under a six-pound penalty. Given that her Turf rating in Ireland is higher than her all-weather mark, a case can be made for her as the drop in trip ought not to inconvenience her too much. Figura, who is now rated 58, won over course and distance from mark of 66 last April, and clearly has a chance based on that form but she is only two pounds better off with Doris Souter for the five-and-a-quarter lengths she finished behind her over course and distance last time. For us, that swings things back in the selection's favour, so Doris Souter it is to land the fillies' handicap.
