Verdict

CLEAR SPELL has the advantage of a run over most of these and wasn't disgraced over a mile here on his debut. The others with experience make no appeal so Ed Walker's charge gets the token vote rather than guess at the ability of the newcomers. Of the latter group, The Third Man is a half-brother to useful stablemates Galipot and Trade Commissioner while the 110,000gns purchase Notebook is preferred to stable companion Timeless War. Here For Good can count Group 2 winner Prince Bishop amongst his winning relatives.
