In depth

Verdict

Code Orange maybe should have done better last time but is chosen to make amends, with For Scarlett and Donya One seen as the main dangers. Code Orange looked a certain future winner when second to Satin Kiss and Penkenna Princess respectively on her two juvenile starts, but now has her supporters chasing losses after after two costly defeats already this term. The daughter of Green Desert lost all chance at the start when sent off as a hot favourite on her return here on the Polytrack last month, and was then beaten into second place by a 33-1 shot on Turf at Haydock next time, after leading inside the final furlong. Those defeats mean that she is not exactly a mortgage job today, but the penny is slowly dropping, and she should surely make a fist of it now. For Scarlett is now stepped up in trip after staying on over five furlongs at Doncaster and appears best of the remainder, while Donya One never got competitive at Leicester and is best watched while apprentice-ridden. All in all, this represents another good chance for Code Orange to lose that maiden tag once and for all.
