        Verdict

        DERIVATIVES doesn't exactly fill one with confidence, as she's let down odds-on backers the last twice at Southwell. However, she may not start at such prohibitive odds today and gets one more chance with John Gosden's last four runners all having won. It would have been tempting to take her on with Nottingham runner-up Heartsong if the latter wasn't having her first start since August, while Conowen is also returning from a lay-off after his fourth at Newmarket in October. The remainder look to have plenty to find and will need bags of improvement to figure.
