Verdict
Broughton Excels has been in better form over 5f recently and won at Kempton last month before finishing second at the same track. An apprentice’s allowance helps his cause today but Spirit Of Zebedee failed to cope under a penalty at Redcar having scored at Catterick earlier. Watch Tan has been placed on numerous occasions but has to win in 16 starts while Drop Kick Murphi was third in a lower grade contest here in September. Malaysian Boleh has slipped back down to a winning mark but could have been better drawn and a speculative vote goes to CHARLIE ALPHA, well beaten in a tougher sprint last time but missing out by only a short-head at Chelmsford before that.
