In depth

Verdict

Debauchery showed progressive form in bumpers last term and gets the vote to make a winning start to his hurdling career here, getting the verdict over Apatura Dik and Present Gale. The last mentioned is bred to be useful and Jonjo O'Neill's gelding has shown winning form in point-to-points so has to be respected on his rules debut. Quarrymount has the benefit of experience over most of his rivals but may struggle to give weight away all round as he has a penalty to carry for his Fontwell success. A similar comment applies to Jim Best's Lady Pilot, while Craic looks the clear second string for Jonjo O'Neill. The Ian Williams-trained Brigadore showed improved form at Bangor last time and has to be respected but a bigger threat may come from Apatura Dik, who ran better when last seen in January and would have every chance if fit enough for his reappearance. Debauchery could be different class to these though and he is preferred.
