AXEL FOLEY is the selection with Lead Home and Mirrored the others up for consideration. John Best is typically mobhanded in this maiden and of the trio, Axel Foley makes plenty of appeal. He very much got the hang of things towards the head of his debut spin and should be capable of further improvement. Lead Home is respected given the form of the Meehan and Spencer partnership. The market is watched accordingly. Mirrored did not build upon a Yarmouth debut but it would be folly to rule him out on the basis of one modest run. Darwin's Dragon will make plenty of appeal once turned out in handicaps. Derringbay didn't show a lot on debut though Mark Tompkins had a juvenile winner at the weekend. One Cool Dream was cheaply bought by Walter Swinburn's standards and is related to winning milers. Noble Jack looks the pick of the Hannon entry. Seventh in a big Newmarket sales race - the handicapper will use him as a yardstick for the others. Duke Of Normandy was big odds on debut and is one to watch with next season in mind. Axel Foley is our call.
