      Verdict

      A small field goes to post for this race and it looks a good opportunity for Maron to open his account for the season with Sotonian, Crafty Politician, and Hinchley Wood looking the main dangers. The selection was a good second behind White O'Morn last time. He has won over the course and distance and need only repeat his latest effort to win this. Sotonian rates the main danger on his latest third behind Miss Fit, especially if the step up in distance brings about some improvement. Crafty Politician is another that could go well as he was a fair fourth behind Sudra last time, but he has been tried over a variety of trips and his best form is over seven furlongs so for that reason he is opposed. Hinchley Wood showed improved form to be fourth behind Somerset West but that was in first time blinkers and they are not sure to have the same effect again so for the winner we return to Maron.
