A big field here, with many looking like they're making up the numbers, and we favour the claims of PLAY UP POMPEY, ahead of Sagunt and Blockley. The selection carries a six pounds penalty for winning here on Monday, but judging by his performance, a quick re-appearance under penalty looks justified. He was impressive in that contest at this level but over slightly shorter. The step up shouldn't be a problem. Joint top weight Blockley also races under penalty after winning over this trip at Kempton on Wednesday. He's been lightly raced this year after a few training problems, and will find plenty of supporters here, especially given the trouble in running he overcame to win in midweek. Sagunt hasn't won for more than a year when landing a gamble, but on his day is certainly better than many of these. He struggled at Brighton last time out but may find this easier track more to his liking. It's not the greatest race by any means but there has to be a winner, and we think most likely first home will be Play Up Pompey.
