    In depth

    Verdict

German import Mondul looked impressive when scoring at Warwick on his debut and can follow up here in this Grade 2 event at the expense of Zimbabwe and Fantastic Arts. Fantastic Arts won over 15 furlongs in the Flat but seemed to run out of gas on his Cheltenham debut. If he just needed the run then he could go well here. Zimbabwe is a John Oxx cast off and, having won over two miles at The Curragh in October, could pose the selection some problems, although he is also entered at Cheltenham today, so bear that in mind. Canatrice, Travello and So Sure look modest on what we have seen so far and Hope Sounds second came in a Newcastle seller. Cougar is a well-related Aidan O'Brien cast off but is pitched in at the deep end on his hurdling bow. All in all, Mondul looks to have been found a good opportunity and gets the vote.
