    Verdict

MEWSTONE can have connections purring after the opener by landing this heat with ease. Kielder Rise is the main danger with the remainder hard to split. The Tom George/Paddy Brennan partnership proved profitable to follow last season and both have been in fine form so far this season. Mewstone finished second in a Chepstow bumper that hasn't worked out before landing the spoils in a better race at Uttoxeter. She's bred to jump a fence but should win races over hurdles in the interim and can start by taking this one. Kielder Rise ran a decent race on soft ground at Stratford on debut before failing to build on that promise in a small field on faster ground at Ludlow. These conditions may suit her better and she must be feared. One Dream hails from an in-form yard but showed nothing under Rules when last seen, Alinghi showed ability on the level in Germany and rates a market check as does Kentford Senorita who is from a good jumping family and may improve for jumping an obstacle. However, we'd be surprised if they were able to get the better of Mewstone.
