        Verdict

        Powderhorn has shown more than enough to suggest he can win an ordinary maiden. Cartago has been knocking on the door while Wafi Star and Hombre Rojo hinted at ability on their respective debuts and are open to plenty of improvement. But James Doyle prefers the newcomer Move Up to Rockley, even though he has no fancy entries. Ocean Ready, a half-brother to two winners, is in next year's Derby, however, and preferred to the filly Spirited Girl. MANTON GRANGE ran very well at Newbury last month considering he missed the break. He'll have learned plenty from that and could upset better-fancied rivals.
