A poor finale, with DARK RANGER carrying only modest support, given that none of these are in the greatest of form, with the other main protagonists expected to be Kiss A Prince and Red Suede Shoes. Tim Pitt's runners usually race in the north, and Dark Ranger's his only runner on the card. He's done well here though this year with a couple of wins, both courtesy of Dark Ranger, who is the only course and distance winner in the field. He's well in at the weights, jockey Robert Havlin's in fine form at the moment, and he ticks more boxes than most. Kiss A Prince tries this trip for the first time, having mainly raced previously over seven furlongs, a distance at which he's won here. He's suited by the surface and is likely to find plenty of backing in the ring. Red Suede Shoes' best form in his short career came here earlier in the year when tried over further. A drop in class and return to the Polytrack could pay dividends. Woolston Ferry's back racing below his last winning mark, but may still find he's got too much to carry. Chris Catlin's an eye-catching booking though for David Pinder. It's a trappy conclusion to the card, but our support goes to Dark Ranger.
