        Verdict

        Another wide open affair, with preference being for MONSIEUR FILLIOUX, with the main dangers expected to be Pegasus Again and Autumn Blades. We're taking on trust that James Fanshawe's gelding is fit, having not raced since winning second time out here back in December, a race which has worked out well. It's his handicap debut, but the trainer's a master at placing his horses, and the step up in trip looks to be a positive thing. The negative would be the draw. Pegasus Again keeps being placed in similar races, but headed late on, so a drop down from a mile to seven furlongs looks a positive for Terry Mills' gelding, who although joint top weight is helped by having a seven pound claimer doing the steering. he did win over course and distance in January, running off a nine pounds lower mark. Autumn Blades is versatile on differing surfaces, but hasn't won in his last ten outings, but is now running off a competitive mark. It's one of those races where we wouldn't be surprised what wins it, but we think it can go the way of Monsieur Fillioux.
