Boumahou is a tentative selection over Vanbrugh and Typhoon Tilly in this two-mile contest, with Turn Of Phrase and Harik fit from jumping recently. The latter was in fact successful at Fontwell on Monday and would certainly be interesting if turned out again, but Boumahou was fancied over a mile and five furlongs here last time, having not quite lasted home over this trip the time before. However, he was found wanting and the decision to put him back up in trip is probably a wise move. This will be only his sixth career outing and he can only improve, and indeed looks just the sort to go over hurdles eventually. There would not be too much between him and Typhoon Tilly on their running here, and in fact the latter is slightly better off for finishing a place behind in fourth. He is another to consider then, along with Vanbrugh who appreciated the stamina test when successful at Southwell last time. Although this is a bit harder, he will be staying on at the finish. Brilliant Red is past his best these days, and a better candidate for the frame at least is Turn Of Phrase, four times a winner over hurdles last year, and who will be fit from a recent outing over timber at Doncaster. He has a featherweight here and should not be ruled out, but in a tricky affair it is Boumahou who is a hopeful choice.
