Ya Laite Maite can make a winning return although Spinneret and Verone appear feasible alternatives. Connections appeared very keen to secure the services of a top jockey for Ya Laite Maite and this could be a key that something is anticipated on a return to the track. The filly has always shaped as if needing this trip and the fact that Ed McMahon has chosen to come here could be significant. Spinneret has to be respected from the Michael Jarvis camp. A poor run on soft ground can be forgiven and it will be interesting to see how the layers react. Verone hails from the under-rated Marco Botti stable. A couple of fair efforts on artifical surfaces suggest that she has got some ability. Storm Petrel has a similar story to tell and having failed at Wolverhampton to land a punt, a watch of the market is advised. Barbs Pink Diamond is tried in first time headgear in an attempt to recover some of her massive purchase price. Dansil In Distress ran a respectable race in a hands and heels affair at Salisbury and is at least consistent. Plenty of imponderables in this race and Ya Laite Maite is the recommendation at the likely odds.
