Mandatum has not been the easiest of horses to win with but ran his usual good race last time when three-quarters of a length behind former stablemate Croon over course and distance; however, he may have to settle for the same outcome here with Croon taken to follow up and Chocolate Caramel rated the best of the rest. Croon has been lightly raced and has had problems with the starting stalls in the past but is clearly over those problems now and there may be more to come. Boot 'n Toot was not beaten far last time but has yet to prove that he stays this far, while Nobelix could probably do with some help from the handicapper. The Violin Player only ever wins when partnered by Richard Quinn, while I Have Dreamed would not appear to be well treated judged by his reappearance run. Chocolate Caramel has to be respected with Amanda Perrett's horses among the winners of late but Croon has looked a reformed character this term and is taken to win again.
