Barton Sands has an obvious chance at the weights in this grade and is preferred to One Upmanship and Bella Pavlina. The last mentioned was bought out of Mark Brisbourne's stable after landing a seller at Wolverhampton last month but showed little on his first outing for new connections on a return visit to the same venue 12 days later and she may be best watched at present. Raheel got to within two lengths of the selection over course and distance in February and has claims on that evidence but has failed to reproduce the form in two starts since and of more interest may be Stef Liddiard's One Upmanship, who has done most of his racing over shorter but does stay this trip well enough. Jomus is well enough treated judged by official BHB ratings to be given a chance and a market move for Brendan Powell's gelding would be of interest. However, Barton Sands has plenty in hand on official ratings, is back over his optimum trip and is taken to resume winning ways.
