Young Kate can get losses back at the expense of Three Ships, Mad and Parsley's Return to name but three. This race is a bit better than the first, with a bit more solid form to work on, and we rely on the consistent Young Kate to bring home the bacon. Having been touched off a couple of times earlier, John Best's filly gained due reward when scoring at Wolverhampton in October, and has gone close in two subsequent efforts, most recently over a mile here 16 days ago when she travelled like a winner throughout, but was caught near the finish. She has only tried 10 furlongs once before, when well beaten at Folkestone, but she is stronger now, and hopes are high that she can last out and gain compensation for that recent narrow defeat. Three Ships was in great form over hurdles during the summer, and was produced fit enough to open his Flat account at Wolverhampton last week. He prefers a faster surface so will be kept to the Polytrack until going back over timber, and should run well without being good enough to give weight to the selection. Mad was successful over a mile here 12 months ago but has been difficult to place in many subsequent visits. He was fancied last time though and was not beaten far at the finish, so may be involved again, while of the rest, Parsley's Return is worth a mention, having also won here in the past. Overall though, it is Young Kate that boasts the best claims.
