In depth

Verdict

Saint Helena, Palm Pilot and Barathea Dancer shape more like decent handicappers than Oaks fillies, while Al Mayasah will need to have made giant strides over the winter to figure in this on the evidence of her debut at Leicester. Date With Destiny made only a modest reappearance at Newmarket and Zain Al Boldan has yet to prove she can compete at this level after wins at Brighton and Folkestone. Always The Lady finished a respectable fourth in what could turn out to be a hot maiden at Sandown on her comeback and her yard won this race in 2008, but John Gosden won it last year and looks set for a repeat with FIELD OF MIRACLES. She landed the odds at Kempton on her return with the minimum of fuss and runner-up Galivant is unlikely to turn the tables on the same terms.
