Unless the newcomer High Profit, a son of Selkirk trained by David Elsworth, proves to be out of the ordinary this looks to be little more than a match between Daytona and L'Oiseau de Feu with marginal preference for the former. Mark Johnston's gelding made a promising debut over course and distance last month prior to being done for a bit of speed dropped back to six furlongs at Wolverhampton subsequently. The return to seven furlongs today should suit the son of Indian Ridge and he looks to be the one they all have to beat. Nicomedia has claims on the pick of her form but is proving to be expensive to follow, while Tetouan would need to improve on his juvenile form to trouble the judge. Rebel Pearl ran better at Wolverhampton last time but would need to improve again and a bigger threat is likely to come from L'Oiseau de Feu. Ed Dunlop's gelding is becoming expensive to follow though and preference is for the less exposed Daytona.
