This is another tricky race for punters to call but we will shortlist Montreux, And I and Otelcaliforni with the vote given to And I. The selection looks to be the percentage call as she shaped with plenty of promise on her debut at Newbury when sixth behind Chatila. She is sure to come on for that experience and she is taken to get her head in front. Otelcaliforni looks a likely type on breeding and her stable certainly merits plenty of respect in these type of events. If the market speaks in her favour then she could go close. Montreux is a well-bred newcomer from the John Gosden yard but he may be better over further in time and for that reason he is taken on today. Gentian is another interesting newcomer from the Sir Mark Prescott yard who might be capable of going well, but in difficult race to fathom, we will stick with And I as the one to beat.
And I 14-1 (8-11) Chased leaders, ran green over 3f out, pushed along over 1f out, no extra inside final furlong, 6th of 15, 5l behind Chatila (8-11) at Newbury 6f 2yo mdn fll (4) gf in Aug.
Gentian Generous filly out of middle-distance winner French Spice.
Harvest Queen (IRE) Spinning World filly, half-sister to 6f winner Generous Gesture.
Montreux (UAE) Jade Robbery filly out of a mare who ran only once.
Otelcaliforni (USA) Gulch filly out of a winning half-sister to Russian Rhythm.
Patitiri (USA) Rahy filly out of a lightly-raced mare.
Song of Passion (IRE) 15-2 (8-11) Slowly into stride, behind, ridden and headway halfway, kept on under pressure final furlong, 4th of 15, 7l behind Jeanmaire (8-4) at Windsor 6f 2yo mdn fll (5) gs in Aug.
Tiptoeing 66-1 (8-6) Held up, headway 2f out, ridden and every chance over 1f out, kept on same pace final furlong, 5th of 14, 1 1/2l behind Cantabria (8-11) at Leicester 6f 2yo mdn fll (4) gs in Aug.
