This is a competitive maiden in which Pommes Frites, Warsaw Pact and Charming Ballet look to be the leading lights and the vote is given to the last named. The selection was a decent third behind Weekend Fever at Hamilton last time and a reproduction of that effort would give him a leading chance today. Our confidence is fuelled by the fact that he finished 5l clear of the fourth in that Hamilton race and with improvement likely from that run he should take plenty of beating. Pommes Frites looks capable of winning a small race but she was a little disappointing last time when fourth behind Chaski. The return to this trip might help her today but at the forecast odds we will oppose her on this occasion. Warsaw Pact is an interesting newcomer from the Sir Mark Prescott yard but his breeding would suggest that he will be better over further in time and he is best watched on his racecourse bow. Honey Flame is another interesting newcomer and is worth noting in the market, but for the winner we will return to Charming Ballet.
