    Verdict

    The betting suggested LESTRADE would build on an earlier promising debut effort when sent off favourite at Chelmsford and he duly obliged when scoring with a bit to spare. He can shrug off a penalty and can go in again. There is little between John Betjeman and Mawsool on these terms though the latter is less exposed and steps up in trip on his reappearance having been gelded since last season while Dor's Diamond, a half-brother to three winners, is preferred to Potters Question and Glory Street of the newcomers.
