Verdict

An open handicap closes the card and from a shortlist of Napoletano, Imperium and Sovereignty we will put forward the last mentioned as the pick. He ran well last time at Salisbury when he chased home Charlie Delta and he was doing his best work at the finish that day over 6f, so this extra furlong should work in his favour. Imperium wasn't disgraced last time and although he has won over this trip, his best form is over 6f so we will take him on today. Napoletano has won over this course and distance and he went close at Brighton last time, so he is clearly on good terms with himself. He is looking for his third win of the calendar year and he is afforded plenty of respect. Strabinios King is better than he showed last time and the yard are shrewd so he is one to note in the betting. However, for the winner we will stick with Sovereignty who can lead them home.
