      Verdict

      William Blake may be able to maintain his unbeaten record at the expense of Hillbre Court but the chances of Taken and Harry Gee must also be taken seriously. The selection made a pleasing start to his career when winning a Southwell maiden by 3 lengths. The form may not be the strongest but this brother to Into The Dark is bred to be useful and should improve for both the experience and this longer trip. Hillbre Court made a decent impression last season and should have more to offer this term but Brian Meehan has yet to get off the mark for the year, albeit from a handful of runners, and he may be best watched on this occasion. Taken's bred to improve for this step up in trip and is sure to be popular whilst Harry Gee's close up third to Martyr reads well enough in the context of this race but William Blake may be able to do the business for us.
