Orange Square can land this at the expense of Salt of the Earth and Requisite. The selection ran fourth of six on Wednesday and although not setting the world alight he was in fact not beaten that far. His previous form reads slightly better but on two occasions he was a beaten favourite. Having said that he does have the best form in the race and now having experience on his side he can hopefully put it to good use here. Salt of the Earth ran well to finish third of eleven on his race course debut and improvement is on the cards. What he actually beat on his debut remains to be seen but he has to be short listed in a wide open contest. Requisite is another to note after improving from his debut when finishing second of eleven at Wolverhampton last month. The stable have done well at this track of late and any market support will be a good guide to his chances. But for the winner the tentative vote goes to Orange Square.
