    Verdict

BERT THE ALERT won twice over course and distance last year in slightly better company and was only beaten a length-and-a-quarter here in January by Conducting, who is now 9lb worse off. Gary Moore's charge will be a lot happier back on the Polytrack and can get the better of the three-year-olds Elusive Band and Azelle. The former has disappointed and needs to settle better but the latter has form in sellers over this trip, though this will be her first try on an artificial surface.
