Verdict

A cracking turnout for the money. Will To Win has completed a hat-trick on three different surfaces including in this grade here last time though a 6lb rise makes this more difficult. His stable companion Corvair made all for an easy victory over 7f here before scrambling home at Wolverhampton. DESERT SAFARI, placed in Listed company last season, may have just been short of a run at Newcastle as he looked to be going best inside the final furlong. His stable companion Lion Tower has been impressive at Southwell and the form of his latest victory was given a boost by the runner-up last week. Hamish Macbeth completed a double last summer before narrowly beaten in a lucrative sales race at the Curragh while Hurcle made a winning start at Newcastle last summer. The latter changed stables and will be better for his reappearance back there last month but Triple Spear's two victories have been at Class 5 level.
