In depth

Verdict

This looks quite tricky as it's difficult to know what to make of Snobbery. Roger Charlton's charge showed some promise at Kempton in August and started long odds-on for a very poor Wolverhampton maiden last month which he won in a canter. The bare form suggests a mark of 78 is too high but he has a huge amount of scope and could be anything. Cape Discovery is at the other end of the handicap and deservedly so. A winner on Polytrack at Dundalk, he won twice at Windsor for Richard Hughes and was returning from a long break when just outpaced in the closing stages over this track and trip last month. PETITE JACK has shown nothing on Turf but it's a different matter on this track as he's won three times here, including over the trip in November. He's up 7lb but is still on the upgrade and gets the nod. Priors Brook returned to winning ways with a hard-fought course and distance victory just over a month ago and a 4lb rise shouldn't prevent another big run but River Dart couldn't quite take advantage of his falling mark here last month and has gone up again.
