      Verdict

      Dave Simcock complicates matters by saddling two here. Ribbing has been well supported on all three starts including on her return to action at Newcastle last month, her first start for 17 months. Although disappointing, she had enough excuses to suggest she will be difficult to beat. Her stable companion Tell A Story ran quite well on her introduction at Wolverhampton and attracted support here a week later but pulled very hard and showed signs of temperament. Rebel State has been busy over the past few weeks and runs the occasional decent race but Mount Vesuvius is a jumper who was well beaten over this track and trip last week. Henry Candy's newcomer Marauder has more of a middle-distance pedigree but Andrew Balding's ALHAJJAJ is interesting. He's making a belated racecourse debut but is related to five winners, including a Group 2 winner, so he's taken to make a successful start in a race that shouldn't take much winning.
