    Verdict

Deep Intrigue has won four of his last five starts - beating Don Armado, Quiet Endeavour and You Never Can Tell at Newcastle 10 days ago - and he wouldn’t be running in this if Mark Johnston didn’t think he could handle a step up in class and distance. The filly Chynna is no forlorn hope as she went close to winning in this grade at Newmarket in November, but a strike-rate of 1-11 is slightly off-putting. FANAAR represents the stable that has won three of the last five renewals. The Dark Angel gelding found only one too good over this trip at Doncaster in September and was then fourth in a Group 3 at Newbury - that is probably the best form on offer.
